Our Vision

We LOVE making Software!
We also admire the huge positive impact well-designed software can have, for both organizations and individuals. Well-designed software has the ability to change how businesses and employees do business, and can act as a catalyst for innovation, new ideas and inspiration.
Software can change the way we look at the world, and so, well-designed software will change the world.
Our Vision is to create that software. Our Vision is, that our software will enable people to make a positive impact. For themselves, their area of business - and the rest of us.
We can, however, only promise one thing with certainty: Our products are invented with passion, designed with experience and programmed with LOVE - for the art of making software.

Our History

Founders Michael Randrup and Joachim Schiermacher both grew up around the computer revolution in the early 80's, and first teamed up to co-create software on hobby basis. In the late 80's, both started their own software businesses.

1994

Michael and Joachim Co-Founds the Software Consultancy firm Randrup & Schiermacher A/S, specialized in Executive Information Systems (What is now known as Customer Relationship Management Systems).

1998-2000

Randrup & Schiermacher A/S is sold to Norwegian based Merkantildata ASA, who has just entered the Danish market, wanting to strengthen their Microsoft Technology based software platform through aquisition. Both Michael and Joachim continues to work with CRM Systems within Merkantildata for a three year period as part of the aquisition.

2000-2007

While Michael persues the area of digital marketing, and partners with former Merkantildata Director to start Cubizz Sales Tools A/S, and bring Microsoft CRM into the Danish market, joachim persues still more technical enterprise-size application development, and ends up starting the software company COM-IT Applications A/S.

2007

Cubizz Sales Tools A/S is sold to a large Danish marketing agency, and Michael and Joachim joins forces again and transforms COM-IT Applications A/S into Applications A/S, focusing on co-creating the Applications Framework Silk Software Foundation, to optimize the effort needed to design and develop enterprise-level complex software. Applications A/S is both focused on designing customer specific software as well as standard software.

2008

The products build on Silk Software Foundation, wins Microsofts 'Most Innovative User Experience' Award, as well as the Confederation of Danish Industry's prestigious 'Product Of the Year' Award. The first software-based product to ever win that award.

2009

Wanting to focus on standard software, Michael and Joachim co-founds the company ClickLearn ApS together with Software Extraordinaire Michael Olsen, and becomes associate partners. ClickLearn ApS is focused on Research & Development of a game-changing new way of auto-creating end-user documentation, Video materials and e-learning for Software products like SAP, Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

2010-2011

Wanting to focus solely on designing innovative standard software, Michael and Joachim looks for a company to aquire the Software Framework Silk Software Foundation as well as the customer base consisting of enterprise-size customers mostly within the public sector.
On October 2011, the largest Danish IT-Company operating in the public sector, KMD A/S, quires Silk Software Foundation, the consultancy part and customer base of Applications A/S.

2012-
